Marisa Logan-Ward

Marisa has been a Non-Executive Director of the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) Board since October 2023.

With a background in biomedical sciences, Marisa has held senior roles in the health sector for over 20 years. Marisa began her career in academic research and then went onto various roles leading on key areas in the transformation of NHS diagnostic services.

Marisa has worked for a range of organisations including the Department of Health, NHS trusts, a Strategic Health Authority, a global laboratory diagnostics providers and the UK’s largest independent hospital group.

Marisa has been involved in national turnaround programmes on quality and patient safety and brings to HSSIB operational experience of improving safety in healthcare.

She is currently a non-executive director at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to joining The Christie, Marisa was a non-executive director and vice chair at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. Marisa is a passionate champion of equality and inclusion.
