Marc Esmiley

Marc has been a Non-Executive Director of the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) Board since September 2023.

He is a senior technology executive and board adviser with extensive experience leading digital, data and AI-driven transformation across highly regulated and safety-critical environments. Marc currently serves as Head of Product for Financial Services Industry within Microsoft’s Commercial Engineering division, where he leads product strategy and commercialisation for regulated cloud and data platforms supporting global customers.

Marc’s expertise centres on risk governance and organisational change. He has strengthened regulatory and assurance frameworks within complex institutions, translated statutory and policy requirements into scalable operating models, and guided organisations through periods of structural transformation and portfolio rationalisation. His board and executive roles have focused on embedding clear decision rights, improving resilience, and ensuring that innovation is delivered within robust governance and risk boundaries.
