Safety Insights Analyst

Oseghale’s background is in Computer Science. He obtained his PhD in Computing Science at the University of Glasgow, with the research focused on applying a proposed systemic accident analysis approach (based on the AcciMap method) in analysing software/IT-related cases in healthcare. Oseghale joined the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) in August 2025.
Before joining HSSIB, he taught and supported students in the School of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and conducted education outreach activities for Queen’s University Belfast. After teaching, he also worked as a research fellow on an AI-based project applying a safety assurance methodology to an autonomous service at the University.
Oseghale is very much interested in the systems thinking paradigm by applying systemic accident approaches not only regarding Health Information Technology (HIT), but also in learning, understanding and applying safety assurance methodologies, especially for emerging new technologies including the proliferation of AI technologies within healthcare and other safety-critical industries.
