Elaine Colomberg
Engagement Lead
Elaine has over 30 years' experience as a clinician and manager in health and social care, delivering mental health and homelessness community services in the public and charitable sectors. She joined the Health Services Safety Investigations Body (HSSIB) in December 2025.
She has worked in NHS leadership roles since 2018, leading engagement and lived experience programmes for an NHS trust. She has also advised on equality and health inequalities-based commissioning programmes in her previous role as Equality and Diversity Manager.
Elaine has a master’s in gender, society and culture and recently completed the NHS Leadership Academy Rosalind Franklin programme. She has a Level 6 Professional Graduate Certificate in Education and is a Level 5 Coaching Professional with extensive experience as an educator and leadership coach.
Elaine has a particular interest in inclusive engagement and lived experience leadership. She is passionate about working collaboratively with patient groups and communities to improve the safety and experience of healthcare provision.
